“I want to enjoy the sights, textures and smells of the garden every time I walk up to my front door,” said Ruth.
The new, right-angled path is a beautiful thick slate to match the grey woodwork of the house. Architectural square box squares mark the angled pathway. The formality is softened by billowy white planting throughout the spring and summer to light up this north-facing space.
Taking the limelight now are tulips, speckled Brunnera and delicate Dicentra. Later will come white hedge roses, flag iris, cosmos and lavender… giving Ruth lots of scent and interest every time she comes home.
