Traditional ‘gypsy’ caravans are gorgeously picturesque and make cozy afternoon bolt-holes.
The traditional caravan is being touted by the Sunday glossies as the new upmarket shed. Not many of them are tethered to cob horses and pulled round narrow lanes as they would have been 100-plus years ago.
These beauties are more likely to be parked up at the bottom of large gardens, swathed in Boden blankets and possibly even discretely hooked up to the mains to power the ipod.
Many owners sleep over in them. But they do need a semi-rural setting.
